What is Rainforest Cafe known for?
Rainforest Cafe is best known for its rainforest-themed dining room, animatronic animals, and birthday celebrations, especially at the Ontario Mills Mall location. Reviewers also repeatedly mention balloon animals, which adds to the family-style celebration feel.
What dishes are most recommended at Rainforest Cafe?
Reviewers specifically highlight the mojo bones ribs, Beastly Burger, pastalaya, coconut shrimp, python pasta with grilled chicken, and Caribbean salmon. The ribs and burger are described as very large portions, while the pastalaya is singled out as a standout dish that is not commonly found elsewhere.
What is the atmosphere like at Rainforest Cafe?
The atmosphere is described as dark, heavily themed, loud, and unlike anywhere else, with a large dining room and lots of birthday parties. It suits families, groups, and people looking for a novelty meal or nostalgia, and several reviewers mention sitting near the elephant or watching the ceiling effects.
Is Rainforest Cafe good value, and what is the price range?
The restaurant is described as a little pricey, but reviewers say the portion sizes and quality make it fair value. One example is the Beastly Burger at $23, which was considered reasonable because it was huge, and other dishes like the ribs and python pasta were also noted as hearty portions.
Should you make a reservation or expect a wait?
Wait time is a common theme, and some reviewers recommend making a reservation if you want to avoid it, especially for busy days like Mother’s Day. When the restaurant is slow, service can feel more relaxed, but at peak times the wait can be noticeable.
