Red Line Diner is best known for oversized portions and a broad diner menu that includes breakfast, sandwiches, and comfort food like chicken parmigiana, pot roast, and panini. Reviewers also repeatedly call out the cheesecake and other desserts from the bakery case, along with quick seating even when the dining room is busy.
What dishes are most recommended at Red Line Diner?
Reviewers most often recommend the banana pancakes, corned beef hash and eggs, vegetarian omelette, chicken parmigiana, pot roast, and the open face roast beef sandwich. The dessert case also gets strong praise, especially the cheesecake, apple pie, carrot cake, and tiramisu.
What is the atmosphere like at Red Line Diner?
The vibe is a large retro-style diner with red and silver decor, counter seating, and a clean, spacious dining room. It seems to work well for groups and travelers because service is brisk and the menu is extensive, though it can get packed on Monday nights and Sunday afternoons.
Is Red Line Diner a good value, and what is the price range?
The price level is moderate, and reviewers say the portions are massive enough to justify the cost even when a few items feel pricey, like the onion rings. Several diners describe the food as reasonably priced or average-priced for the size and quality, with comments that the value is strong because the plates are so large.
How busy does Red Line Diner get, and when should you go?
It can get very busy, with reviews mentioning packed dining rooms on a Monday night and a crowded Sunday afternoon, but staff still sit people quickly and keep service moving. If you want a smoother visit, going outside peak meal times may help, especially if you plan to order from the extensive menu and dessert case.
